Directions:
From South (NYC, Rockland, lower Westchester)- take I287 to I684 north. Follow I-684 o exit 6 (rt. 35). Make a left onto rt. 35 west and follow for approx 2 miles. Make a right onto rt. 100 North and follow for ? mile. Make a left onto rt. 139. Follow for 2 miles, and Somers HS is on the right hand side.
From North (Beacon, Pawling, Albany) ? Take NYS Thruway I-87 south to I-84 east. Take I84 to I684 south. Get off at exit 6. Make a right onto rt. 35 west and follow for approx 2 miles. Make a right onto rt. 100 North and follow for ? mile. Make a left onto rt. 139. Follow for 2 miles, and Somers HS is on the right hand side.
From West (Peekskill, Yorktown, Bear Mt. Bridge, No. Rockland County and So. Orange County) Take Bear Mt. Bridge and follow signs to rt. 6 east. Take the Bear Mt. Parkway (buses allowed) to rt. 35. Make a left onto rt. 35 east. Follow for approx 10 miles and make a right onto rt. 100 North and follow for ? mile. Make a left onto rt. 139. Follow for 2 miles, and Somers HS is on the right hand side.

Somers is located about 45 min. north of VCP, 15 min from Danbury, CT, and 1:45 South of Albany.
It had been thirteen years since Somers HS hosted a XC race until we constructed new trails in the summer of 2001. Join us for the 10th Annual Big Red Invitational. Run your Varsity and JV squads together so you can figure out who your top seven are. The course is a beautiful, 5000m course, with some challenging hills and is entirely on trails and grass. Come check out one of The Hudson Valley?s premier XC courses.
DIVISIONS
Divisions by school size. All schools with a NYS BEDS # over 800 are Division I, below 800 are division II.
ENTRY
All Entry done online. After you have entered "Print Confirmation", submit that to your business office, and mail us the entry OR bring it with you on meet day. We MUST have your hard copy entry on meet day for you to pick up your packet.
Entry Fees
$5.00 per athlete entered. Max Entry is $250.00 for a school.

COURSE
Course is much improved this year as we have widened all the trails, installed erosion barriers, added some wood chips in the wet spots, and make a few small adjustments. Its a challenging course that runs fast at the same time.
Scoring
Top 5 score and top 7 displace. Athletes not in the top 7 will not displace other athletes. There will be JV scoring out of the varsity race. All athletes not in their team's top 7 will count toward JV. You do not have to clarify who is JV and Varsity. In the girls freshman race, 3 girls will score as a team, with 5 displacing. All other races will score the standard way.

Team Picture Plaque for the top two teams in each race.
Boathouse Team Sweatshirts to winning team in varsity races - All awards given out on race day.
Individual Awards
Trophy and T-Shirt to overall winner in each race
T-Shirts to 2-20 overall in each race. (1 shirt per athlete)
Top 10 JV runners in each varsity/JV race will receive medals
Freshman races t-shirts to the top ten placers
Refreshments & Sales
There will be a refreshment stand located by the finish line and T-Shirts will be on sale this year.
